A skinbooster is a treatment in which soft hyaluronic acid is placed in many small deposits just beneath the surface of the skin. Hyaluronic acid is the body's own moisture-binding substance, and when it is distributed evenly through the skin, it attracts and holds water.
The result is skin that becomes more hydrated, elastic and radiant over time.
The key thing to understand is that a skinbooster does not build volume or change your features. It improves the quality of the skin you already have.
Traditional filler is placed more concentrated to create volume and contours - plumping lips, lifting cheekbones, defining a jawline. A skinbooster does the opposite: it is spread thinly to hydrate and improve the condition of the skin itself.
You could say that filler shapes, while skinboosters nourish. The two do not exclude each other, but they each do a different job.
There are several good products, and the right choice depends on your skin and your goal. Among others, we work with ranges across three areas:
At the consultation we work out together which range suits your skin best - there is no one-size-fits-all solution.
The skin is cleansed and, if needed, numbing cream is applied. A series of small injections is then placed evenly across the treatment area with a fine needle.
The treatment itself usually takes between twenty and forty minutes. Afterwards, small bumps and the occasional bruise may be visible for the first 24 hours - this is completely normal and disappears quickly.
Skinboosters work best as a course rather than a single treatment. A course of two to three sessions a few weeks apart is typically recommended, after which the effect builds up and matures.
To maintain the result, many people repeat the treatment a couple of times a year. This is exactly why skinboosters also make a lovely part of an ongoing skin programme - for example as a member with us.
Skinboosters are particularly well suited to skin that looks dry, thin, tired or lifeless - and that is not just the face. The neck, décolletage and backs of the hands are areas that often reveal age and dryness, and that respond beautifully to the treatment.
It is a treatment for those who want to invest in the quality of their skin over time, rather than in a quick change.
For the first 24 hours the skin needs rest: avoid intense exercise, saunas and makeup, and be careful in the sun. After that, most people gradually notice their skin becoming more hydrated, smooth and radiant as the course progresses.
We follow up along the way, so we can assess together how your skin is responding.
Treatment and product choice are always tailored individually at a consultation. This article is general information and not a treatment recommendation.
